Men’s Salicylic Acid Peels
Salicylic acid is helpful in fighting acne for several reasons. First, it is antibacterial and, therefore, can help to eradicate Propionibacterium acnes (P. acne), which is the bacteria most frequently associated with acne. Secondly, salicylic acid is attracted to oils and helps to breakdown the sebum which accumulates and clogs pores of acneic clients. Low grade peels are a gentle way to effectively deliver salicylic acid into the pores. These peels should be performed every 2 to 4 weeks until the acne is under control and then can be done on an as-needed basis.

Men’s Laser Genesis
The laser Genesis is a no down-time, safe and effective treatment for decreasing the inflammation that is often associated with acne. In addition, Genesis laser treatments can minimize the hyperpigmentation that is often left after acne lesions have resolved. You will see subtle, but consistent results after each treatment. You may be slightly red for about an hour after the treatment, but otherwise will have no noticeable effects immediately after your appointment. Depending upon the severity of acne, 6 to 10 treatments about every two weeks may be needed.
Men’s Blue Light Therapy
Blue Light is a safe, pain-free way to treat moderate inflammatory acne. Narrow band blue light kills P. acne, the bacteria which is most consistently associated with acne. Mild redness may occur that lasts for about an hour after the treatment, but otherwise, there are no noticeable effects right after the therapy. Depending upon the severity of acne, a series of 8 – 10 treatments may be needed. This treatment can be performed as frequently as once a week.
Men’s Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)
PDT combines Blue Light Therapy and Levulan, which is a photosensitizing agent, resulting in an excellent treatment for more severe cystic acne. Levulan is first applied to the skin and allowed to sit for up to three hours. During this time, it is absorbed by the overactive cells in the pores and by the P. acne cells (the bacteria responsible for most acne). The Blue Light then activates the Levulan, effectively destroying those cells. Normal skin cells do not absorb Levulan and are therefore unaffected by the treatment. Two to four treatments approximately one month apart are usually needed for best results.
